Young Adult Reentry Program
If you’re between 18 and 24, have been involved with the criminal justice system, and want to work toward a better future, YouthWorks can help. Through the LifeLaunch: Growth Opportunities 4 (GO4) program, YouthWorks can help you get your second chance and gain the skills you need to earn a good job.
Develop the soft skills needed to get and keep a job.
The first three weeks of the GO4 program cover YouthWorks’ premier job readiness curriculum, JumpStart Success, which focuses on communication, resume writing, customer service, career goal setting, leadership development, and occupational skills development. During this time, you will receive the support you need to be successful in the workforce and beyond, including violence prevention, conflict resolution, and mentoring by our community partners.
Gain real-world work experience.
You will spend 8 weeks completing a paid work experience in a career field that interests you and will have a career pathway to success.
- Work up to 30 hours a weekday (may include weekdays, evenings, and weekends)
- Gain the skills necessary to be hired in entry-level positions with benefit.s
- You will earn a certificate from the National Retail Federation Foundation (NRFF) in Customer Service in Sales or Warehouse Inventory and Logistics.
- You will get the support you need to succeed.
Program staff will meet you at a location convenient to you and help you access the support you need to succeed, such as:
- Dedicated Case Worker
- Transportation assistance
- Employment services
- Financial literacy
- Follow up and support for one year
Eligibility:
- Out-of-school (GED or high school diploma not required)
- Age 18-24
- Have been involved with the justice system
- Allegheny County

The LifeLaunch: GO4 program is made possible with a $4 million grant award, covering 86% of operating costs, from the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration. Goodwill® is contributing leveraged funding valued at $667,414 to cover the remaining 14% of operational costs.
