Aspire is an Adult Training Facility for individuals ages 18-59 years-old with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
This Pennsylvania licensed and CARF accredited program fosters the development of job readiness skills and provides guidance in the areas of daily living and independent living skills.
How does Aspire work?
Aspire is a time-limited service that embraces flexibility, individualized attention, and community integration. We provide engaging experiences both at the Goodwill facility and out in the community. Client-centered modules meet interests and support independence and participation in their communities and/or work.
Modules may include: housekeeping skills, food prep/safety instruction, digital skills, career exploration, job readiness, advocacy and self-care, functional math and reading, health and wellness, art and music therapy, mobility, enrichment activities, and more.
What are the benefits of Aspire?
Aspire takes place in a bright, integrated facility that features a fully operational kitchen, a mock apartment, an interactive classroom, and up-to-date technology. Daily volunteering opportunities are also available.
Who is eligible for Aspire?
Individuals are eligible to participate by meeting the following requirements:
- Have a documented diagnosis of an Intellectual Disability or Developmental Disability
- Are 18 years of age or older and post-high school
- Ability to perform basic Activities of Daily Living Skills (ADL’s) independently
- Willing to become involved on a scheduled basis
Individuals are referred by Supports Coordination Units and are funded by waiver programs available through the Office of Intellectual Disability (OID). This is considered a Community Participation Support service (W7226 1:4-1:6 and W9351 1:2-1:3). Rates are determined by Fee Schedule Rates for services funded through the Consolidated, Community Living, P/FDS, and Adult Autism Waivers as well as Base-Funded programs, residential ineligible services, and the accompanying rate assumption logs. Private pay is also accepted.
What is the Service Availability?
The start date is determined by the availability of openings. Aspire operates Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
